With a hint of spring now in the air and the arrival of the first real sunny day of 2011, I couldn’t resist spending some time on one of my favorite marks.
The plan was to test out some new top water and shallow diving lures, and experiment with some SP’s in a rip running alongside the rocks where a river meets the sea. The conditions were perfect for Bass, but with the water temperature around the 9.5-10 degree mark I thought I’d have to wait a little longer to feel the fight of one on the end of my line but was more than happy to be out on the water!
To keep things short, after a couple of hours of experimentation this little guy decided he wanted to brighten up my day even more! 
Biggest of the year 
Not the biggest, granted, but its a gorgeous little Bass and the first for me in 2011, I’m a very happy man!
Won’t be long now and they’ll be back in the numbers we all like to see!! Let me at ‘em!!
